Aeronauts free online gambling. Story - 5 out of 10
It was a shame they decided to fictionalize certain aspects of the film for the sake of being in vogue. Especially as I found Amelia Wren's personality quite irritating.
The flashbacks work well and help to form good character development and overall the simple storyline is presented well.
Acting/Characters - 3 out of 10
Probably the weakest aspect of the film. There is lack of chemistry between James and Amelia that makes you feel like you can never really bond with either.
Cinematography/Costume - 7 out of 10
Outstanding balloon scenes are not for the faint of heart. Witnessing the beauty of being above the clouds is enough to want to be a part of the adventure.
Costume is everything that you would expect from a bit budget period drama.
Soundtrack - 7 out of 10
Subtle and quiet, exactly what it needed to be. However it comes to life when drama and emotion call upon it:

A beautiful to watch yet unconvincing drama packed with just enough excitement to get you to the end.

It's a shame they aren't making the movie about the pioneers who really did this. I highly, highly recommend this movie. This is one of my absolute favourite movies ever. ♥♥♥. Korhatár. I watched this on Amazon Prime streaming. While it was inspired by a real person, James Glasier who set the early groundwork for understanding and predicting weather, the story told here is a highly fictionalized account of his 1862 ascent by balloon to perhaps 36,000 feet.
Felicity Jones as the fictional pilot and Eddie Redmayne as James Glaisher are both good. Being a scientist myself I was a bit put off by such things as climbing the exterior of the balloon at above 30,000 feet where the air temperature would be somewhere between -50 and -65F, and without gloves! What is depicted here is fantasy.
But what about the good? The production values are high and the action interesting. Plus how many have even heard of Glaisher and his pioneering meteorological studies at a time when other British scientists laughed at him? He was a very important scientist in the history of weather forecasting and contributed to changing the world.
So yeah, it has lots of things it can be legitimately criticized for but still it is an entertaining movie if you are in the right mood. I mostly enjoyed it.
